Registration Information

Seminar Fees

Early Registration (received by May 5, 2004): $845 per person includes your choice of over 60 hours of scheduled presentations, participant sponsored sessions, Seminar materials, lunch from Sunday through Friday, coffee breaks, the opening cookout, and the closing banquet and dance. The fee increases to $945 on May 6, 2004. All registrations must be received by June 14. June 28

Daily Option: If you are unable to attend for the full week, there is a daily rate available so that you can tailor the seminar to fit your schedule. The $160 daily fee includes all scheduled presentations, participant sponsored sessions, seminar materials, lunch, and coffee breaks that day. (On Friday, the daily fee includes the closing banquet and dance that evening.)

The opening cookout on Saturday, July 3 is $40. The Wednesday morning class is $50. If you would like to attend only the closing banquet and dance on Friday, July 9, the price is $65.

Students: Full-time students and recent graduates (those who graduated from a full-time program in 2002 or later) may attend the Seminar at the reduced fee of $275. Please see the back of the registration form for financial aid options. Student scholarship options. Be a Conference Assistant

Meals

Breakfast and dinner are NOT included in the conference fees above. A meal package is available that covers breakfast, Sunday through Saturday, and dinner, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The price for this package is $130. If you are not attending for the entire week, you can purchase your meals at the cafeteria as you go.

Accommodations

On-Campus Accommodations: The Objectivist Center has reserved a block of rooms at the University of British Columbia. All accommodations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrangements for on-campus accommodations must be made through The University of British Columbia's Reservations Office. To reserve a room, please complete the "Request For Accommodation" form. After the form is filled out, it should be mailed or faxed to The University of British Columbia's reservation office at (604) 822-1001. UBC will accept accommodations reservations until June 3.

There are three tiers of accommodations available. The accommodations are not air-conditioned, however, this should not be a concern as the average high temperature in Vancouver in July is 71 degrees. All accommodation prices listed below are in Canadian dollars (CDM). Canadian-US Converter

Standard single room: Units of six private bedrooms, each with a single bed, in an apartment with shared bathroom facility and sitting area with refrigerator and stove (no utensils are provided). Bedrooms accommodate one person only. There is no phone service. Price: $35 (CDM) per night.

Premium single room: Units of four private bedrooms, each with a single bed and telephone, in an apartment with shared bathroom facility and sitting area with television, refrigerator, and stove (no utensils are provided). Bedrooms accommodate one person only. Price: $46 (CDM) per night.

Suites: All private suites feature a television, telephone, and kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator, stove, cooking utensils, toaster and coffee maker. We have arranged for a limited number of suites, which are available on a first-come first-served basis. Prices listed are per suite not per person.

Studio Suite: A studio apartment with a single bed, private bathroom and small living area. Suitable for one person only. Price: $84 (CDM) per night.

One-bedroom Suite: A one-bedroom suite featuring a queen-sized bed in a separate bedroom, private bathroom, and a living room. Suitable for single or double occupancy. Price: $116 (CDM) per night.

West Coast Suite: A one-bedroom suite featuring two single beds in a separate bedroom and a queen size Murphy bed in the living room. Suitable for a maximum of four people. Price: $129 (CDM) per night.

Off Campus Accommodations: The closest hotels to campus are located in downtown Vancouver, a 20-minute drive from campus. There are a wide variety of hotels available, and we suggest going on-line to find the best rates.

Other Fees

Transportation to and from the seminar is the responsibility of participants.

During the Seminar, the extensive recreational facilities of the University of British Columbia are available for use by participants for an additional fee.

Cancellation Policy

Written cancellation requests received by May 5, 2004, will receive a full refund; those received by June 1, 2004, will receive a 60% refund. All charges are non-refundable after June 1.

Conference Assistants

A separate application form is required to apply for one of the working positions at the Seminar. Contact the Center at 1-800-374-1776 or ehill@objectivistcenter.org to have one sent to you. Applications are due by April 23, 2004.
