Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) is introducing legislation calling on schools to return to teaching Western values and Western civilization. But what, exactly, are these values, should we adhere to them and why? This forum will offer the conservative, the Left, old and new, and the Objectivist perspectives. It will also consider what is being taught in our universities and how Western values can be used in political arguments to cut to the heart of issues. Basic principles should inform public policy and such policies presumably seek to preserve those principles in our society. Come hear a stimulating debate in the intellectual and cultural war between Western values and multiculturalism.
