Reach for the Stars while Reforming NASA

Edward Hudgins, Washington director of the Objectivist Center, whose book “Space: The Free-Market Frontier” was recently published by the Cato Institute, says that the tragic destruction of the space shuttle Columbia should not deter our quest to make space and other worlds part of mankind’s domain. In an editorial published this weekend he said we should celebrate the heroic lives of the Columbia shuttle crew.

(See The Australian or on this site )

Deep soul searching is now necessary concerning the future direction of NASA. As part of this effort, NASA itself should accelerate its current examination of innovative ways to let private enterprise provide many space services.
