ECW Students Learn the Art of Public Speaking
William Thomas, David Kelley, and Susan McCloskey spent the weekend of August 3-5 at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, instructing seven promising advocates of Objectivism in the art of public speaking. This was the summer 2001 Effective Communication Workshop.

Call for Papers Issued for 2002 Advanced Seminar

The Fourth Annual Advanced Seminar in Objectivist Studies will be held in the middle of the summer of 2002, in coordination with TOC's Summer Seminar. This meeting for scholars and advanced students features the detailed examination of scholarly essays on philosophical topics. The seminar serves as a proving ground for new work by Objectivist scholars. Those interested in presenting a paper at the Advanced Seminar can find a call for papers on TOC's Web site or request one by mail by writing to TOC. Paper proposals are due on January 23, 2002. Proposals should include a substantial draft of the essay that is proposed. For further information, please contact William R Thomas, TOC's manager of research and training.
