As an avid Ayn Rander, I agree with a previous post who stated that it is "stranger than fiction" Angelina Jolie will be playing Dagny Taggart in Atlas Shrugged. As an aclaimed Ayn Rander, it appears either Angelina does not understand the philosophy of objectivism or she has not read Ayn Rand's books. I doubt Angelina Jolie is a committed objectivist, individualist, rationalist, capitalist. It is obvious she does not understand the horrendous state, according to Ayn Rand, of America's foreign policy and the UN. From Ayn Rand's CAPITALISM, THE UNKNOWN IDEAL; Chapter 16; The Pull Peddlers. . "America's foreign policy is so grotesquely irrational that most people believe there must be some sensible purpose behind it. The extent of the irrationality acts as its own protection, like the technique of 'The Big Lie', it makes people assume that so blantant an evil could not possibly be as evil as it appears to them and therefore that somebody must understand its meaning, even thought they themselves do not." Ayn Rand. As this headline indicates. . . Angelina Jolie Inducted Into U.S. Council On Foreign Relations ... it appears Angelina Jolie's philosophy is not just disimilar to Ayn Rand, but rather juxtaposed to objectivism. I suggest you read this book Angelina, after which you may or may not decide to play Dagny Taggart - and if you do, if one is to judge one by their actions, I suggest it would NOT be a principled path for you to take.
