Ayn Rand in Modern Gaming

If anyone here has ever played, or heard of the popular game "BioShock" one would be able to see the startling connections to Ayn Rand in this game. First of all, the city "Rapture" was created by an ex-Soviet citizen (sound familiar?) named Andrew Ryan (same initials). The city was founded on the main principles of Objectivism (free men, free market, ect.). Not to mention that this game also takes place in 1960! (When Ayn Rand was very active).
Okay, as if that wasn't enough, there are bottles of wine in this game. If one is to closely examine these bottles of wine, the words "The Fountainhead" are clearly visible in small print. Lastly, when walking through the city, there are banners proclaming Objectivist values, and speechs doing the same. Even if you do not see the connections with this, you'll certainly be able to with these examples and comparisons. The city was founded to by outside of all government control, it is basically "Galt's Gulch!" Secondly, "Andrew Ryan" describes a time in which he bought a forest, and the Congress was beginning to move to nationalize it, and make a national park. As seen in "Atlas Shrugged", when Ellis Wyatt is faced with this same problem concerning his oil wells, he burns them down, which is exactly what Andrew Ryan does to his forest! He burns it down so that it cannot be looted!
Even though this isn't an advertised point of the game, it really is the basis of the entire thing. So, if you haven't had a chance to play this, you should and see these important things! The only negative thing is, I am unsure whether the game is attempting to portray Objectivism as good or bad, maybe someone else has an idea on this?

Good to see you back on this forum, Andy. I'm not welcome on the Objectivist Living forum, as you probably know.

Nick,
Im aware of the fact you are banned from OL. However, I dont believe this means you cannot read the thread and make comments on it here.
I rarely come here since there is not much activity, so I will be spending my time at OL.

It's true that I can read topics on OL. I don't have much to say about this one, though. I'm not really into gaming. And, I don't see much on OL worth commenting on. Even if I weren't banned, I'd probably not post there anymore. I'd rather try to make this board, and the boards on which I do post, worthwhile. I think that was once your goal too.
bis bald,
Nick
